I honestly didn’t care if it was walking the dog around the neighborhood, raking leaves or crushing a 50 mile trail run. The point was to encourage people to make at least 20 mins of activity a part of their daily routine. And that is exactly what we accomplished. The response has inspired me. I've heard the same from many other participants that reached out during the challenge as well. Some used the challenge as a personal motivator, some used it to ignite a smoldering flame in friends or family members and others used the challenge to jolt their mundane and typical routine. Regardless of everyone’s individual purpose, it was encouraging to see so much engagement, support and appreciation from the group. Some stats to highlight include:
Many participants have kept the streak alive beyond the 30 day window. Research tells us that habits can be formed over 30 days. I’ll be anxious to see if they can keep the streak alive until 11/25/21 when we go #HolidayStreaking together again. Until then … Get up, get out, get moving! *These are the different activities that I am aware of, there could be more. Road Running, Trail Running, Track Workouts, Road Cycling, Mountain Biking, Studio Cycling/Peloton, Walking, Hiking, Flatwater Kayaking, Swimming, Nordic Skiing, Alpine Skiing, Snowshoeing, Weightlifting, Kickboxing, Boot Camp, Yoga, Tap Dancing, Pickleball, Golf and Raking Leaves.
