I’ll admit, every so often I get caught up in the deep, dark rabbit hole of YouTube. The majority of my glazed over viewing sessions are wildly unproductive but occasionally, a video strikes a chord. Beau Mile’s film entitled “A Mile An Hour” strummed that productive chord beautifully and I instantly set a goal to replicate the experience myself. What an amazing experience it turned out to be.
Here was my justification ... weekend getaway, marginal paddling experience, tagging along with some good buds, always up for a micro-adventure.

The goal of “Plastic Free February” was simple … raise awareness of our excessive plastic use. We often hear stories where plastic use has created major environmental issues around the world. Guess what? These issues are also present in each of our own backyards. Here is the good, the bad, and the impact of #PlasticFreeFeb. There are plenty of mind-boggling stats that agitate me. Worldwide, we buy 1 million plastic bottles per minute. Only 23% get recycled. In other words, by the time you finish reading this article, 3,850,000 more plastic bottles will be introduced into our environment … forever. Not good. That should make you want to do something about it as well.
