Anyone who's driven I-70 westbound from Denver, CO knows you can’t miss the north-south trending ridgeline that starts in the town of Frisco and weaves it's way towards Breckenridge. This is the Tenmile Range. This classic Colorado front-range line is visually stunning as the entire ridge dwells above 12,300ft with Peak 10 reaching skyward to over 13,600ft. As it turns out, this beautiful ridgeline is extremely challenging to run. Guest Contributor: Tim Reitz R2R2R means a lot of things to a lot of people but taken literally, the acronym stands for the Rim to Rim to Rim trail run of the Grand Canyon.
This iconic and notoriously grueling 45-mile challenge is well known in the trail and ultra-running circuit and graciously offers extreme climbs, unpredictable weather and incredible views that can only be truly appreciated in the first person. For me it has also offered a sense of pride that has lasted exactly four years and counting. Guest Contributor: Kat Bruce
I was 1 of 30,000+ participants in the Los Angeles Marathon on March 8, 2020. It was an unforgettable rush to be a part of the never-ending wave of runners that filled the streets of LA for 26.2 miles. The energy of the crowd undoubtedly carried me through the inevitable “wall” and across the finish line in Santa Monica. Three days later, the pandemic shut our country down and everything changed. Remember what it was like to be a kid? The gleeful feeling of riding a bike without training wheels for the first time. Learning how to swim, play soccer, or even read your first chapter book. Everything was unfamiliar, exciting, and new. You were probably a little rough around the edges but despite this, excitement easily filled you to the brim and plastered a perma-grin on your face. |
