Plastic Free February 2021
This challenge encouraged participants to remove-single use plastics from the daily routine and do their part to clean up the roads, trails and waterways that we run, ride and paddle each day. To tie the challenge together a bit more, prizes included 100% recycled HPM branded apparel from Recover Brands as well as reusable coffee mugs and gift cards from Summit Coffee.
It was disheartening to see all of the trash strewn throughout our environment, but it was encouraging to see how much of an impact and influence we had well beyond the participants alone.
The biggest take away was a clearer understanding that all of the trash produced is simply a by-product of the bigger issue at hand ... our throw-away culture needs to be addressed. We'll do our part to continue to raise awareness, but we need your ongoing support.
