Rainbow: A Western NC Mountain Run

We're STOKED to continue to evolve and expand the HPM vibe with our newest in-person experience hosted within the stunning Montreat Wilderness of Western North Carolina just outside of Asheville!

Rainbow: A Western NC Mountain Run (3/13/27) taps into the beautiful spectrum of people, nature, comfort zones, challenges, and celebrations. This event offers 1, 2 or 3 loop options (4ish miles per loop), that will send runners to the summit of Rainbow Mountain and back via creek side trails, spicy inclines, rolling doubletrack, technical descents, broken pavement and an alpine lake.

Runners can expect an eco-friendly, community focused, inviting and energetic vibe to test themselves physically and mentally throughout this NOT-flat course and classic HPM Trail Running Party!

Rainbow - FAQs

What do I need to know for Event Day?

  • Free Parking is at Anderson Auditorium Parking Lot. Space is limited. Don't park like a knucklehead. 
  • Bathrooms are available within Anderson Auditorium (no bathrooms on the course)
  • Course is a 4ish mile loop which starts/finishes in the same location (Race HQ)
  • There will be one ​Aid Station at Race HQ with Water, Tailwind, soda, bananas, PB&Js, pretzels, chips, SPKs, etc.
  • Participants are required to be fully self sufficient throughout the day
    • Shade, chair, extra nutrition, etc. are the responsibility of each participant
  • Friends/family are welcome to support and crew at Race HQ
    • Pacers are NOT allowed on course
  • Event is on private land owned by Montreat Conference Center and we are grateful for the opportunity to host an event here ... Join us in showing respect and appreciation throughout.​​​​

How does this event support our environment?

  • ​100% of additional donations during registration go directly to Montreat Wilderness/Conference Center to support their ongoing effort of maintaining natural places and enriching wilderness experiences for everyone.
  • At Check in we'll collect the following to be recycled and kept out of the landfill
  • As of 2024, HPM events are proudly "Cup Free" to reduce our environmental impact
