Guest Q&A: Wesley Maxwell Read Time: 3 mins Wesley Maxwell has been a very dear and long time friend of HPM and can typically be seen behind the lens capturing photos of all you beautiful humans at our events, Stoke Squad Meet ups, and more, but don't let the "behind the scenes" action fool you ... Wesley is a seasoned paddler and pedaler and as of the other weekend ... a runner? See how Wesley was "enabled" to register for his first running event in 10 years and how he destroyed his goal time at the Meck Mile!
Author: Lisa Roberts Read Time: 2 mins I’m Lisa Roberts, 46 year old, a retired pro triathlete and avid endurance junkie. I’m also a landscape architect and a cat lover. I recently participated in the Kathmandu Coast to Coast Multisport World Championship, located on the South Island of New Zealand. The race offers two day solo options, relay options, and run section only option. I opted for appropriately named “The Longest Day” version which includes 243 kilometers of technical mountain running, cycling and kayaking down class 2 rapids through canyons that you must complete in, you guessed it, a single day! Here's how it went ...
Turns out, we’ve all been duped. With a puffed chest, I’ve been sharing this whackadoodle idea of “The 7-Eleven Ride” with a few friends over the past few months. I’ve confidently shared that this is “a thing people do”. They ride 100 miles and stop every 20-ish miles at different 7-Elevens to eat roller meat (hot dog, brat, taquito, etc) and add an escalating topping at each subsequent stop. Our ride started with a confession and ended, thankfully, with far less dogs than I expected.
