Rewild is shaping up to be another incredible community gathering, running experience and platform for good. Clearly, I’m biased but here's 5 reasons why we think you should join our upcoming Last Runner Standing Event on 9/19/26.

#1 - Ridiculous Number of Giveaways & Prizes – If you’re familiar with this event in the past, you know we get pretty liberal with our giveaways, prizes and partner discounts, etc … a quick rundown of what you can run away with on event day
  • HPM “Maze” Sun Hoodie ($50 value) – Included with registration and sustainably made from 95% recycled materials (+ 5% spandex) from NC-based Recover brands
  • Distance Prizes ($135) value – All participants are eligible to score 4 prizes just by running! This year’s “distance prizes” include …
    • Half Marathon = HPM “Aloud” Neck Gaiter ($10 value)
    • Full Marathon = HPM Bamboo Wireless Speaker ($35 value)
    • 35 Miles = HPM “Maze” Bucket Hat ($40 value)
    • 50 Miles = $50 HPM Gift Card ($50 value)
  • Prize Laps – Like previous years we sprinkle in opportunities to earn more prizes from our brand partners
    • Map Lap = One lucky “Map Lap Runner” will win a FREE Weekend Stay at our sister project, the MAP House, in Western NC!
    • Fly Human Fly Lap = Hoka swag and gear
    • Beer Lap = New Belgium Brewery swag
    • Keep a Cool Head Lap = Headsweats hats
    • Coffee Lap = Black Coffee Roasting Co beans and swag
    • Rural Thrill Lap = Tickets to Loch Norman Games and other Rural Hill goodies

#2 - New Venue – We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to update everything from Psychoactive at Blackberry Ridge Farm to Rewild and can't wait to show you what Historic Rural Hill has to offer! A beautiful course that traverses Scottish Highland cow pastures, singletrack trail, rolling fields, and gravel roads. On top of that, there is plenty of free parking and access to a Corn Maze, Food Trucks and more with discounted tickets ($10 vs $16) for participants and their family/friends.

#3 - Great Opportunity for a Distance PR – We’ve heard over the years that “last runner standing events” can be intimidating, and that might be true for those that are aiming to be the literal last runner standing but if you start the break down the numbers, it gets way more manageable to make it a race that works for you!

This format, especially our format that starts off at a generous 14+ minute per mile pace (Watch THIS on Instagram for visual context and check out the full Lap Schedule & Pace Chart HERE), is super conducive to setting and reaching your distance goals. Since there is downtime between laps and the pace is manageable in the early part of the event, we’ve witnessed countless Distance PR’s over the years … so much so that our pal Jesus has brought out a confetti cannon to celebrate those PRs!

#4 - Environmental Support – You already know that we have a love affair with Mother Earth in everything that we do… Rewild is no different
  • Trail TLC Days – We’ve already hosted one Trail TLC Day to help maintain the trails at the venue … stay tuned for another one
  • Historic Rural Hill is also the event beneficiary, and we have a goal of raising at least $1000 towards their ongoing efforts as a cultural center, working farm and nature preserve
  • As with all HPM events we will also be collecting your old apparel, athletic shoes and race medals to recycle with Recover, GotSneakers and Sports Medal Recycling respectively

#5 - Fifth Anniversary – What started in 2022 with 40ish runners that were simply dipping their toes into this new “last runner standing” format has blossomed into multiple years of a sellout field of ravenous runners. This “National Holiday” to many is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with friends during shared laps, push themselves out of their comfort zones, stick around for the endless camaraderie and quite frankly, be a part of a wildly unique running event.

At the end of the day, if you’ve run this event before, you know the amazingness that occurs … get your ass signed up ASAP. If you haven’t run this event before, ask around (or shoot us an email with any questions at [email protected]) and then get your ass signed up ASAP.

Rewild is shaping up to be another barn burner this year and to be honest, you simply don’t want to miss it. Hit the link below and be a part of the action!
