HUMAN POWERED MOVEMENT'S RIVERSWEEP CLEANUP SITE HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO HIGH WATER LEVELS AND ACCESS ISSUES FROM HURRICANE HELENE

We continue to support our local environmental non-profit partners by linking up with the Catawba Riverkeeper for their annual basin-wide cleanup called "Riversweep" on Saturday October 5, 2024.

Human Powered Movement will proudly be a Site Captain for Riversweep at the Latta Nature Preserve location on Mountain Island Lake.
Join us for a few hours of supporting OUR planet, freebies from HPM and our brand partners, and a free Recover Shirt!
Cleanup Details:
  • Cost: Free
  • Date: Saturday - 10/5/24
  • Location: Latta Nature Preserve - "Kayak Only Ramp"
  • Time:
    • Cleanup = 9am - 12pm
    • Stick around Latta for a Group Trail Run with HPM 
      • OR
    • After Party at The Boathouse (McAdenville, NC) = 11am - 4pm

About "Riversweep"

  • For decades, citizens around the Catawba-Wateree River Basin have been cleaning up their river, lakes, creeks, and streams to ensure their waterways look beautiful, are safe for swimming and fishing, and are free of pollution.
  • ​The Catawba Riversweep is an annual celebration when citizens from all over the river basin come together to clean up on the same day from Lake James to Lake Wateree and everywhere in between. 
  • With just 3 short hours of your time, you too can say “I AM A RIVERKEEPER!” You can register as an individual, a business, a school, a church, a neighborhood, or a group of friends today and be a part of the largest river cleanup in the Southeast with a goal of pulling over 50,000lbs of trash from our waterways and riverbanks
